We used HomeGuard in Clearwater; they have non-toxic products and treated our whole house. Their number is 727-595-3502. If you live in California, perhaps they could give you a referral there.

Master Pest uses Duo Foam 800-983-7648. They are THE BEST and non-toxic! After I used them, with great delight, I recommended to a well-known film industry person who was also delighted. They go all over California, even northern CA although they are located in Orange County.

Please have them explain the method to you. No toxins ever get to people or pets and you don’t have to leave home while it's being done.

If you are in LA, these guys are the best: Greenleaf Organic Pest Control: 818-321-1257

Borate is non toxic for people and the environment and is the cheapest by far. It is injected into the wood and lasts 15 years. A company should give you a guarantee to retreat in case they missed something. Not a lot of companies have this new, non-toxic tech which is more work so many companies still sell the poison methods first.

We had termites (Alexandria, VA) and a few things were done that totally handled them.

In the house, they drilled holes into the floor and injected a jelly like substance, then sealed it up. They put bait traps around the house which consisted of them digging small holes around the house, and placing cylinders with bait inside. They sealed the bait traps with small round plates which are hardly noticeable and checked them every few months. Termites find and return to locations so these traps draw them in and you can actually see if you have termites. The traps also have some kind of treated block in it that gets to the queen and nest and eliminates them.

In less than a week, it seemed handled. No more signs of termites which were swarming everywhere before. Regular checks reveal no signs of termites. There was no spraying, no chemicals inside of the house. You may want to try this.

Tenting is best in my opinion. Of the eight estimates that I obtained last moth, J.D. Smith and Truly Nolen were the lowest. I ended up using Truly Tenting, but they do not handle subterranean termites. Subterranean termites require a different type of treatment.

I loved orange oil. I think it is non-toxic but you can do your own research. We ended up treating one area of our house that had termites by ourselves. If it's a huge problem, I don't know if orange oil will work. You can have orange oil companies come out and inspect too.
